Two world premiere recordings were honored. The Contemporary category celebrated Sir George Benjamin's opera, while the Early Music category recognized The Krasiński Codex, a 15th-century musical treasure from Cracow. This recording, which narrowly escaped destruction during World War II, offers a glimpse into the rich musical heritage of the late Middle Ages, painting a unique picture of European musical culture. Baritone Sir Thomas Allen received the Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his five-decade-long career spanning Mozart to Sondheim.
